Gen Z: 2019 Exploration

In the process of creating the Gen Z: 2020 Style Guide, we went through a long process of trying to figure out what the style would be. Eventually, we landed on the style we call “Net Punk”, but before we got there we tried styles that were much more playful, whimsical, and even cute at times. While those directions were fun to explore, they weren’t right for what we were trying to achieve.

Here you’ll see those discarded directions. Even though they weren’t the right direction for us at the time, I’m glad we took the time to explore. You’ll also see the early development of the “Net Punk” style we ended up using.
